Duran Richard “Richy” Kirschman, age 56, of Burnsville, Minnesota, passed away on January 1, 2026.
Richy was born on June 28, 1969, in Edina to Duran and Beverly (Stenvik) Kirschman. One of six children, he grew up in Burnsville surrounded by family and friends.
Richy had a deep love for the outdoors and for staying busy. He enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, snowmobiling, golfing, and working on his cars. Some of his favorite times were spent simply being with his family, especially his cousin Dale. Family always came first to Richy.
He graduated from Burnsville High School and later attended Dakota County VoTech, where he earned his machinist degree. Richy was a very smart and capable man who could fix just about anything. If something was broken, he would figure it out.
More than anything, Richy was known for always showing up for the people he loved. If there was a family gathering, he was there. If someone needed help, he was the first one to step in. Whether it was fixing something, lending a hand, or just being present, his family could always count on him.
Richy is survived by his siblings, Deborah (Duane) Lipinski, Lynn (Cheryl) Kirschman, Dann (Lorrie) Kirschman, and Jodi (Eric) Glazek; sister in law, Holly Kirschman; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duran and Beverly Kirschman, and his brother, Glen Kirschman.
