Dr. Charles H. Ridge

Dr. Charles H. Ridge, age 78, of Hastings, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at his residence.Charles was born March 14, 1931 in Hearne, TX to George and Troy (Street) Ridge. He was united in marriage to Judith Robinson on May 2, 1979 in Stockdale, TX. Charles served in the Marines, and was also in the Airforce from 1979-1989. He was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Charlie and Ronald Ridge; sisters, Leone Worcester, Norma Dickens, and Vivian Williams. Charles is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Elaine Ridge, Denise St. Leger, Diane Kennedy, Kristin Castillo, Joshua Ridge, Jose Castillo, Mario Castillo, and Jasen Castillo; brother, Glyn Ridge; sister, Doris Rusciano; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. The funeral service will be 9:45 AM, Monday, June 8, 2009 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings. The visitation will be from 2-6 PM, Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the Monday service. Interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Joe Robinson, Kurt Cahill, Josh DuBois, Dean Robinson, Pat Rowan, Tom Burke, Chuck Robinson, and Tanner Polk. Honorary pallbearers include: Matt and Mike Bennett of Amarillo, TX, Taylor and Lenis Simpson of Dallas, TX, and Dr. Harlan Willis of Lubbock, TX. Memorials preferred.
