Douglas J. "Doug" Fredricksen

Douglas J. "Doug" Fredricksen, age 42 of Hastings, passed away peacefully at home following a two-year battle with cancer on Friday morning, June 29, 2018. Douglas John, the son of Michael and Cynthia (Greschner) Fredricksen, was born on January 29, 1976, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Doug attended Hudson High School where he wrestled, and graduated with the class of 1994. He briefly continued his education in Business before owning and operating his own masonry company, Professional Stonework Concrete. Doug was a huge Washington Redskins fan, and loved to hang out with his friends. He also enjoyed watching movies and spending time at his land in Colorado. Doug was a hard worker, and always set his goals high and never failed to achieve them. On April 22, 2018, Doug was united in marriage to his best friend Melinda "Mindi" Stark in Hastings. He was preceded in death by his mother; and by his son in infancy, Alexander John Fredricksen. Doug is survived by his wife, Mindi; daughters, Kirsten and Alexis Fredricksen; father, Mike Fredricksen; brother, Mike (Jessie) Fredricksen and their family, Lily, Audrey, and Eli; grandmother, Bernice Fredricksen; mother and father-in-law, Bill and Debra Stark; the extended Stark Family; and by other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Dougs Life will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory in Hastings.
