Dorothy Mae Coffman

Dorothy Mae Engel, age 93 passed away peacefully at J. A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota on Tuesday, 17 November 2020. Dorothy Mae, the daughter of William John Engel and Mabel Dorothy Petersen was born 21 April 1927, in Lincoln Township, Grundy County, Iowa. Dorothy graduated from Reinbeck High School, Reinbeck, Iowa. She loved and excelled at music both during and after high school. She married Erwin Dale Coffman on 9 February 1946. In 1956, the family moved to Grundy Center, Iowa and remained there until 1965 when they moved to Hastings, Minnesota. She worked at Perman’s in Hastings. Dorothy loved her family, the Minnesota Twins, going to her grandchildren’s events, crossword puzzles and music (especially Frank Sinatra). She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her husband. She is survived and greatly missed and loved by her three daughters: Karen (Pat) Kelly, Linda (David) Dotson, and Deb (Terry) Matula; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
