Dorothy E. Reese

Dorothy E. Reese, age 104 of Hastings, died peacefully on Thursday morning, June 4, 2020, at Augustana Care of Hastings. Dorothy Evelyn, the daughter of Louis and Sena (Martinson) Trapp, was born on March 31, 1916, in Woodville, Wisconsin. On October 19, 1935, Dorothy was united in marriage to Kenneth Reese in Woodville, Wisconsin. They were blessed with seventy-five years of marriage prior to his passing on January 11, 2011. Dorothy was a longtime store clerk at Olson's Variety Store, The Meyer Company, and Ye Old Fabric Shoppe, and enjoyed the many friendships she made along the way. Dorothy loved to sew and made most all of her outfits. She was dedicated to her faith and was a member of New Life Ev. Free Church, and formerly First Baptist, and Calvary Baptist Church. Dorothy also enjoyed baking and was known for her personalized birthday cakes and lemon bars. Most of all, Dorothy will be remembered as a very thoughtful and caring person to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ken (Bernadine), Arthur (Ruby) and Leonard (Olive) Trapp; and by her husband, Kenneth. Dorothy is survived by her many nieces, nephews, great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Private family services will be held at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Pastor Brent Kompelien officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice in memory of Dorothy. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
