Dorothy A. Woxland, age 96 of Hastings, died peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Augustana Care of Hastings. Dorothy Alice, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine Kobierowski, was born on March 24, 1920, in Owatonna, Minnesota. She attended Hastings High School and graduated with the class of 1938. Dorothy then began her 41 year career as Chief Deputy Court Administrator for Dakota County. On September 14, 1968, she was united in marriage to Fran Woxland at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Hastings. Their deep love for one another allowed them to recently celebrate 48 years of marriage together. Fran and Dorothy enjoyed traveling the world together and later wintered in Peoria, Arizona, after retirement. Dorothys talents included calligraphy, cross-stitching, knitting, and stamping to name a few. She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower beds, especially the yellow begonias and tulips. Most of all, Dorothy loved to cook, entertain, and spend time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Eleanor, Mary, and Peg; and by her brothers, Ed, George, and Bill. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Fran, of Hastings; and by many nieces and nephews who meant the world to her; as well as other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hastings. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to Mass at church on Saturday morning. Private family interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Cremation Services in Hastings.
