Doris Jean Rosenfelt

Doris Jean Rosenfelt, age 89 of Hastings, passed away peacefully Monday evening, December 21, 2015 of pancreatic cancer, with her daughter by her side.Doris was born July 12, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Edward and Florence (Hall) Witte.She married her high school sweetheart, Willard at age 18. Doris was an accomplished seamstress, master cake decorator, amazing cook, phenomenal baker known for her flaky pie crust, and had her own successful floral arrangement business. She loved fishing, camping, spending time with her grandchildren and watching her seven great grandchildren grow up.She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Willard E. Rosenfelt; daughter, Carol J. Henning and son, John B. Rosenfelt.Doris is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Don) Biscoe; son-in-law, Steve Henning; grandchildren, Bonnie (Rick) Ries, Brian (Missy) Henning, Bill (Heather) Biscoe, Amy (Nathan) Fritz; great grandchildren, Mitchell Ries, Julia Biscoe, Karly Biscoe, Miranda Ries, Ethan Fritz, Audry Fritz and Issac Fritz.Memorial services will be held 12 Noon Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Avenue, Cottage Grove, with Reverend Bryan Olson officiating. Visitation will be held at church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Family invites those attending to a luncheon and time of fellowship following the service. A private family interment will be held in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
