Donald W. Henriksen

Donald W. Henriksen, a retired Hastings Police Officer, age 77, of Hastings, went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2014. He was born in McIntyre, IA on July 4, 1937 to Emil and Elva Henriksen. He married Caroline Fender in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA on July 27, 1957. Don served as a Hastings Police Officer for over 31 years. He was an avid golfer, a master marksman, and he enjoyed deer hunting, and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and an infant sister. Don is survived by his wife, Caroline; children, Kevin (Michelle); Sherry (Gery) Wagner; and Tracie (Brett) Behnke; grandchildren, Tony and Matt Welin; Nick, Danno, Tom and Tricia Wagner; Dave Lundberg, Jeanna Clarke, Dean, Dustin and Christa Behnke; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Linda May and Sue Ann (David) Duvall; other relatives and friends. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Glenn Olson, will be held on Sat. (12/13) at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Evangelical Free Church, 11245 Point Douglas Dr., Hastings. A visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at church. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers. The Wise Family Funeral Home is serving the family.
