Survived by wife Mary "Betty" (Heschke) Schmitt; 2 sons Roger Schmitt & Patrick "Fudd" (Jane) Schmitt; 3 grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel, & Jennifer Schmitt; also 1 great-grandson Isaac McCandliss. The Funeral Service will be held at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. 7th Street in Hastings on Saturday, September 22nd at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation held 1 hour prior to the service.
