Donald "Don" Wical, age 63 of Farmington, died peacefully at home following a ten year battle with cancer on Tuesday morning, October 20, 2020. Donald Leo, the son of Loren and Deloryce (Diemert) Wical, was born on December 31, 1956, in Seattle, Washington. Following his graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1975, Don continued his education in HVAC Systems at Red Wing Community College. With a dedication to his passion in technology, Don dedicated thirty years to public education to the communities of South Carolina to ensure every student had the chance to study with computers. Don's dedication to his work ethic was acknowledged by many by receiving many awards over the years. On August 6, 2011, Don was united in marriage to Diane Russell in Hastings. Even though their time together was all too brief, Don and Diane enjoyed life to the fullest and created many memories along the way. Outside of his dedication to technology, Don was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching the South Carolina Gamecocks and hockey. Most of all, Don cherished his family and the many friendships he made in South Carolina, Minnesota , and Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father, Loren. Don is survived by his wife, Diane; mother, Deloryce; children, Heidi (Jamie) Bell, Jon (Erin) Wical, Sean Reinbold, and Allison Reinbold (fiancé, Chris Lund); grandchildren, Lola, Sirus, Lily, Felix, and Lydia; siblings, Kelly (Nestle) Wical, Kim (Larry) Senne, Ron Wical, Kathy (Greg) Byrne, Steve Wical, and Joe (Renae) Wical; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held. The recording of the Mass will be uploaded to his obituary page on the funeral home's website following the service on Saturday.
