Dolores Mae "Dee" (Hartley) Rosenquist, age 90, of Hastings, passed away at home, surrounded by her family on August 6, 2021. Dee was born January 12, 1931 in Duluth MN to Clinton and Harriet Hartley. Dee moved with her family to St. Paul where she attended school. In 1948, Dolores graduated from Johnson High School in St Paul. After graduation she worked at 3M doing clerical work until she married her childhood sweetheart Richard Rosenquist. With that she became the wife of a serviceman during the Korean war. They have been inseparable for 75 years and together they raised 5 children. Dolores spent a majority of her working years at The State of Minnesota in the clerical field and served as a union representative. Upon retirement, she began her new career as Receptionist/Office Manager at 5th Avenue Color Company Salon in Hastings. After 16 years she finally retired at the age of 85. Dolores loved and lived for family and God. She brought a smile to the face of everyone she met, and was the most positive person. As Richard would say, “Dee was an eternal optimist.” To both her children and grandchildren, she was a divine blessing. Dolores was very active with the VFW Auxiliary (lifetime member) and OES. Dolores has always loved dancing, the outdoors and dinners with her husband who she has been with since she was 15 years old. She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard; children, Sandra (Gordon) Carlton, Richel “Ricki” Jenkins, Lori (Kim) Duong, and Thomas Rosenquist; grandchildren, Philip Carlton, Jessica Jarnot, Justin Jenkins, Vienna Duong, Tiffany Duong, Edison Duong, and Chase Rosenquist; great grandchildren, Rose Jarnot and Lyla Duong. Dee was preceded in death by her son, James Rosenquist; father, Clinton Hartley; and her mother, Harriet Hartley. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th St. in Hastings. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. A private interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
