Diane Moran

Diane Moran, age 81 of Hastings, went to be with the Lord peacefully on March 17, 2026.

She was born on October 17, 1944 in Northfield, MN to Dorothy and William Chandler.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Sean; parents; nephew, Scott Partington; niece, Linda Partington; and brother-in-law, Dave Lorentz.

Survived by her son, Colin Moran; siblings, Dorothy (Norb) Girgen, Deloris (Jim) Partington, Maynard Chandler, Irene “Chandy” Nichols, and Shirley Lorentz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Diane graduated from Hastings High School in 1962. After graduation she worked for Gegen & Schoen Law Firm as a legal secretary. Diane then moved to California with her good friend, Barb, for a couple of years. After moving back to Minnesota, Diane met Robert and they were married on December 27, 1969. They settled in Elk River and had their two sons, Sean and Colin. After her husband and son, Sean, passed tragically in 1973, she and Colin moved to Lake Elmo. When Colin graduated and went to college, Diane moved to Hastings where she lived until her death.

She was a woman of deep faith and was an active member at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Diane was a veracious reader and enjoyed bowling with her sisters.

Memorial Service at 4:00pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St., Hastings, with visitation one hour prior. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to a charity of the donor’s choice.
