Dennis Maynard Novak

Dennis M. 'Denny' Novak, age 76, of Hastings, passed away April 20, 2018. Denny grew up in Milroy, MN on a farm with his parents, John and May Novak and his 3 younger sisters. He graduated from high school in 1959 and worked his mother's family farm in Minneota, MN for several years. In 1971, he married Vickie (Pool). Denny worked for 25 years at Koch Oil Refinery (Flint Hills), retiring in 1999. He enjoyed traveling, the campgrounds, boating, and most of all being with his children, grandkids, and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and May Novak; and father in law, Herbert Pool. Denny is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vickie Novak; son, Kristopher (Jennifer) Novak of Hudson, WI; daughter, Angela Novak (friend, Olaf) of Raleigh, NC; grandkids, Tyler and Brookelyn; siblings, Sandi (Don) Bierbrauer of Hastings, MN, Cheryl Novak of Milroy, MN, Jodi (Tom) Kesteloot of Marshall, MN; 5 nephews,1 niece and their families. A memorial service will be held on Saturday (4/28) at 3:00 PM at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings. A gathering will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings. A reception will follow the graveside service. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
