Dennis "Dennie" Mccoy

Dennis "Dennie" McCoy, age 66 of Hastings, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 25, 2022, at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis. Dennis Patrick, the son of Bernard and Margaret (McLeod), was born on July 15, 1955, in Hastings. Following his graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1973, Dennie married the love of his life, Roxanne "Roxie" Braun, shortly after on August 2, 1975. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army. Dennie worked at Smeads Mfg. for forty years, and retired as a mechanist. After retirement, Dennie created DENROX Scrolling where he would create cribbage boards, word art, and many other works of art. He and Roxie would attend countless craft fairs where he especially enjoyed talking with customers. In his younger years, Dennie was an active softball player who was a part of many leagues. He loved going for rides on his motorcycle and also enjoyed playing Santa for forty years. He is preceded in death by parents; sisters, Mary Fox and Judi McCoy and two infant brothers, Patrick and David; brother-in-law, Richard Marks; and by his nephew, Chad Birkeland. Dennie is survived by his loving wife, Roxie; daughters, Mandi (Chuck) Kampa and Missy McCoy; grandchildren that loved their Papa, Aishia McCoy, Danielle McCoy Harper, Abby Kampa, and Erin Kampa; one great-granddaughter, Faith Isom McCoy; siblings, Katie Birkeland, Michael McCoy, Colleen Marks, Tim (Barb) McCoy, Dan McCoy, and Kevin (Carrie) McCoy; his chihuahua, Minnie; and by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Dennie’s Life will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. Arrangements are being completed by the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
