Delores "Del" Anderson

Delores "Del" Anderson, age 87 of Hastings died peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at her home surrounded by family. Delores Arlene, the daughter of Conrad and Clara Nielsen, was born on December 12, 1926 in Tyler, MN. On August 11, 1947 Del was united in marriage to Richard E. Anderson. He later preceded her in death on September 7, 1998. She was a longtime employee of 3M and retired in 1989 after 39 years of service. Del loved gardening, flowers, playing cards, her Tuesday morning coffee group, Wednesday bakery trips, and spending time with her cherished friends. She was a faithful and active member of the former Guardian Angels Parish and most recently St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, both in Hastings. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Richard; her son-in-law Clif Johnson; her grandson Tom Johnson; and by her siblings Bobby Nielsen and Audrey Madsen. She is survived by her children, Diane Johnson of Apache Junction, AZ, Patricia Anderson of Hastings, and Debbra (Tim) Peterson of Elk River; her 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Father David Hennen, will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West 15th Street, Hastings. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East 7th Street, in Hastings on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, also on Monday for one hour prior to the Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Hastings Family Service in memory of Del.
