Delores A. Frandrup

Delores Frandrup, age 81 of Hastings, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 7, 2016. Delores Ann, the daughter of Milton and Helen (Meier) Karnick, was born on July 29, 1935 in Hastings. Following her graduation from Rosemount High School, Delores was united in marriage to Gerald "Jerry" Frandrup on August 21, 1954. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved being a farm wife. Delores also enjoyed playing cards, antiquing, dancing with Jerry, cooking (which she was specifically known for her chicken salad) and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; and by her siblings, Leona, Marvin, Irvin and Harry. Delores is survived by her children, Jerry (Brigitte) Frandrup of Hastings, Helen (Joe) Raway of Hastings, Jim (Dana) Frandrup of Phoenix, AZ, Joe (Deb) Frandrup of Cottage Grove, Jack Frandrup of Hastings, Jeff Frandrup of Hastings, Vickie (Joe) Schweich of Hampton, Missy (Dale) Beissel of Winter, WI, Jay (Janet) Frandrup of Hastings, and Jesse (Velita) Frandrup of Hastings; her 24 grandchildren and many great grandchildren as well as more on the way; her siblings, Dora Mae Frandrup, Evelyn Siebenaler and Clarence (Marge) Karnick; and by many nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at St. Agathas Catholic Church in Coates, with Father Richard Mahoney officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Parish Cemetery, Vermillion. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings, and will continue on Thursday morning at church for one hour prior to Mass.
