Deborah "Deb" Engeldinger

Deborah "Deb" Engeldinger, age 68 of Hastings, died peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2022, at United Hospital in St. Paul. Deborah Gayle, the daughter of Donald and Marilyn (Niederkorn) Chandler, was born August 1, 1953, in Hastings, Minnesota. Deb graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1971 and continued her education at Saint Paul Cosmetology School. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Engeldinger August 3, 1979, in Hastings. Together, they had three children, Michael, Angie, and Katie. During her life Deb had a passion for her daycare and helped raise hundreds of local children in her home. Deb also worked part-time at Walmart throughout her retirement. She enjoyed watching the horse races at Canterbury, her 6:05 a.m. phone conversations with friends over coffee, good food, and her Yorkie, Waddles. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Chandler; mother and father-in-law, Donald and Mary Lou Engeldinger; brothers-in-law Brian and Tom Engledinger; and by her grandmother, Irene Niederkorn. Deb is survived by her children, Michael (Ashley) Engeldinger, Angie (Scott) Brantner, Katie Golding; grandchildren, Austin, Tori, Elise, Taylor, Peyton, Kamarra, and Emma; father of her children and life partner, Bill Engeldinger; siblings, Terry (Wendy) Chandler and Dona Chandler; hundreds of daycare kids over the years; nieces, nephews, and by many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Deb's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 28, 2022, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation for one hour prior to the service, and to a reception immediately following the service, all at the funeral home on Saturday. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
