Dean C. Nielsen

Dean C. Nielsen, age 71, of Hastings, passed away at United Hospital in St. Paul on Friday November 25, 2016. He was born to Adolph and Mabel Nielsen on December 9, 1944 in Postville, IA. He served in Alaska for 2 years during his time with the US Army. He married Marsha Youngblood in Ossian, IA on October 2, 1971. Before his retirement, Dean was a 52 year employee of Patterson Dental. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Gary Radach. Dean is survived by his loving wife, Marsha; daughters, Sarah (Scott) Gronquist, and Jessi Nielsen; grandchildren, Avery and Alison; sister, Janice Boyles; sister in law, Dena (Don) DiLaura; and many other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service, officiated by Gordon Gathright, will take place on Wednesday (11/30) at 7:00 PM at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings. There will be a gathering one hour prior to the service.
