David W. Schmidt

David W. Schmidt, 74 of Apple Valley, passed away Monday with his loving family by his side. He was born April 16, 1936 in Max, North Dakota to Walter and Dorothy (nee Kloster) Schmidt. David is survived by his wife of 53 years Grace “Maggie”, daughters Sue (Bill) Schnell and Mona (Phil) Young, grandsons Myke, Adam, and Scott Connelly and Konrad, Patrick, Ian, and Riley Young, brother Bob Schmidt, sister Mona Hanson, and his beloved Cairn Terrier Little Eva. Preceding David in death was his daughter Karen Schmidt. David loved his family and he lived out that love by fishing with Grace and their grandsons, traveling, and working with his hands as a woodworker. He will be forever loved and missed. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 PM Friday, April 1 at Grace Lutheran Church of Apple Valley, 7800 150th Street West, Apple Valley. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue (952) 432-2331 and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Memorials requested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
