David J. Carroll

David J. Carroll, age 71 of Hastings, died suddenly but peacefully at home on Monday afternoon, October 28, 2019. David John, the son of Martin and Pearl (Nelson) Carroll, was born on December 28, 1947, in Hastings. Following his graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1966, David enlisted in the Army National Guard and was later Honorably Discharged after six years of service. On May 10, 1974, he was united in marriage to Patricia Heesch in Hastings. David worked at Northstar prior to his longtime career at the Cenex Co-op distribution center in Rosemount. He was an avid collector and loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. David also enjoyed riding his Harley, classic cars, and gardening. He was always fixing and repairing just about anything, and wouldn't give up until the project was done. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon J. Carroll; and by numerous aunts and uncles. David is survived by his wife, Patty; children, Diana (Paul) Carroll-Almen and Jeff Carroll (Josh Coughlin); granddaughters, Miranda Almen and Sydney Almen; siblings, Jim (Sandy) Carroll, Mary (Bruce) Blevins, and Charlotte (Jim) Bzoskie; brother-in-law, John R. Schommer; great nephew, Robby Rehm; the extended Heesch family; and by many other nieces, nephews, and friends. A Celebration of David's Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019 at Cornerstone Bible Church in Hastings, with Pastor Jim Bzoskie officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at church on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Animal Ark 2600 Industrial Ct., Hastings, MN. 55033. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
