David G. Buchanan died Wednesday, July 15 in Akeley, Minnesota. David served his country in the United States Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic during the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga, serving 2 tours and circling the world twice. David worked for Northwest Airlines for over 30 years, retiring in March, 2009 as a Quality Control Representative.

David was born October 17, 1950 in Minneapolis to Donald and Helen (nee Mayclin) Buchanan. He is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Melissa (Chris) Pierskalla, sons Peter Joseph (Laura) and Matthew David (Cassie), grandchildren Jakob Allan and Kallan Ann Pierskalla, sisters Diane (Jim) Nelson and Donna (Jim) Whitney, brother Daniel Buchanan, and many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday, July 22 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley. Inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
