David A. Huggins

On Thursday, May 16, 2019, David A. Huggins, loving husband, father, grandpa, and friend to all, died peacefully in his Eagan home, his family holding him close, due to pancreatic cancer at the age of 72.

David enlisted in the US Army in 1967 and bravely served his country in Vietnam with the Mad Dogs of the 240th Assault Helicopter Company.  He remained a true patriot his entire life.  A Minneapolis South High School graduate David worked hard and enjoyed sports his entire life.  After retiring in 2008, he reveled in his true passion for golf five days a week.

David will be dearly missed by his wife, Susan; and children: David Jr (Mandie), Dan (Julie), and Ally Klee; grandchildren: Eddy, Manny, Hannah, Jacob and Ari; brother, Bill (Marsha); sister-in-law Pua, and many other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gretchen, and his brother, Jimmy.

Memorial service 11:00 AM, Monday, June 3, 2019 with visitation one hour before at Grace Lutheran Church, 7800 W. Co. Rd. 42, Apple Valley. David will be laid to rest with military honors at Ft Snelling National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 4, at 11:30 AM, and all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made.
