Daniel L. Tix

Daniel L. Tix, age 61 of Hastings died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the University of Minnesota Hospital. Daniel was born February 9, 1953 in Red Wing to Leo and Dorothy (Bohart) Tix. He was a graduate of Hastings High School, class of 1972 and married Debby Tix on December 24, 1987 in Hastings. Dans first love was sharing the word of God with everyone. He was involved with Men of Fire (Trinity Works) to reach the lost. He played baseball for many years with the Hampton Cardinals, softball with the Buccaneer and helped coach his sons baseball teams, shot pool, was an avid golfer and loved bowling. Dan was the kind of guy that would give you his shirt off his back. He loved life and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dan is survived by his wife Debby; children Heather (Arik) Connell of Hastings, Jorin (Kristin) Tix of Inver Grove Heights, Jared Tix of St. Paul Park, Haley (Eric) Raway of Cottage Grove and step-son Chad Johnson of Princeton; also 11 grandchildren; sisters and brother Judy (Roy) Grubb of Apple Valley, Diane (Joe) Endres of Spirit Lake, IA, Linda (Mike) Gores of Coates, Kevin Tix and Karen Tix, both of Hastings. The Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. Paris Pasch will be held 1 PM Thursday at Christ Family Church, 518 Second St. East, Hastings. Visitation will be held AT THE CHURCH from 4-8 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings.
