Daniel D. "Dan" Gable

Daniel D. "Dan" Gable, age 59, of Hastings passed away July 20, 2019. The family finds comfort that he was doing what he loved most when his time came; fishing in his favorite spot, Lake Mille Lacs. Dan lived life to the fullest and challenged those around him to be the best version of themselves. He absolutely adored his wife Kristi! He was generous, kind, hard working and loved telling people fascinating stories of his life. He was the embodiment of living Christ-like. He was proud to be an Electrician and even more proud to be a provider to his family. Dan was born on December 17, 1959 in Santa Clara, CA to Richard & Daisy (Bruce) Gable. He spent his youth in California, going to school and fishing along the ocean. He lived in Colorado for a time where he taught the younger generations the survival skills necessary to survive in the mountains and more importantly life. In 2003 Dan moved to Minnesota, his dream fishing destination. After a long wooing process, he was united in marriage to Kristin Ann on September 23, 2012 in Red Wing, Minnesota. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart. He will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of meeting him. Dan is survived by his "beautiful bride", Kristin (Almquist-Greuel) Gable; son, Jeremey (Dee) Gardner of Austin, MN; son, Greg (Tara) Gardner of Colorado; daughter, Sarah Greuel of Hastings; son, Joshua (Savannah) Greuel of Hastings; son, Micah Greuel of Hastings; parents, Richard & Daisy Gable; siblings, Steven Gable; Linda Yesitis; Dianna Faulkner; Lori McClarnon; Dawn (Ben) Tamone; Doug Gable; many other relatives and friends. Dan is preceded in death by his brother Richard. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Almquist Event Center (aka Almquist Farm), 21321 Polk Avenue, Hastings, MN 55033. Dan's family also invites friends to join for a gathering before the service from 3:00 until 3:30 p.m. and following the service from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for a meal and reflections.
