Craig S. Davis, beloved father, grandfather,and friend; age 50; of Hastings, formerly of Madelia, MN, died Saturday, September 6, 2008. Craig was born February 23, 1958 to Donald & Marlene (Zellmer) Davis in Madelia, MN. Craig moved to Hastings in 1984. He �worked as a millwright mechanic for 3-M Co. in Cottage Grove for 24 years. Craig loved the open road and rode his motorcycle whenever he could. He also enjoyed helping out on the farm when possible. He had served 7 years on the Hastings Police Reserves and was�a gun safety instructor. Craig was preceded in death by his father; brother- in-daw Lyle Pietsch, and father-in-law Edmund Pietsch. He is survived by the love of his life Laura; daughter Jamie (Kevin Burdon) Davis & their daughter Morgan of Lakeview, OR; son Joel (special friend Lindsey Ruecker) Davis of Hastings; loyal dog Mickayla; mother Marlene Davis of Lewisville, MN; also 8 siblings Terry (Sharon) Davis of Hallsville, TX, Lynn (Mark) Blanchard of Madelia, Jay (Lisa) Davis of Eau Claire, WI, Merle (Bonnie) Davis of Madelia, Brent (Sally) Davis of Warrenton, MO, Lori (Richard) Spidahl and Rick (Terresa) Davis all of St. James, MN, Doyle (Judi) Davis of Truman, MN; 3 brothers & sisters-in-law Les (Barb) Pietsch of Madelia, Lynette (Gary) Louden of Little Falls, MN, and Lowell (Lori) Pietsch of Madelia; special friends Jim (Jeanette) Johnson of Hastings and Tim (Kathy) Bloomquist of Afton, MN; also many nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. A gathering of friends will be held from 4-8pm Wednesday, 9/10/08�at the CATURIA-SMIDT FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. 7th St. Hastings. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, 12 noon to 2pm at the Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia, MN with a service beginning at 2pm officiated by Rev. Steven Girard. The interment will follow in the Fieldon Cemetery. The pallbearers are Larry Bickman, Bruce Schlosser, Ken Takey, Rich Braun, Scott Kochendorfer, and Zach Pearson. The honorary pallbearers are Jim Johnson and Tim Bloomquist.
