Cole Aaron Jacobs, age 35, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born the son of Lori (Prestegard) and Paul Jacobs on December 21, 1989 in Maplewood. Cole grew up Hastings, graduating from Hastings High School as Valedictorian, class of 2008. He was three year varsity tennis player and member of the knowledge bowl team. He attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering. Cole worked for Border States Electric Supply as an applications engineer. He loved bowling, fishing, and playing tennis and golf. His pride and joy was his dog, Sophie. Cole was described by everyone at Mayo Clinic as stoic, kind, and compassionate.
He was preceded in death by his step grandfather, Richard Anderson; grandfather, Joseph Jacobs. Cole is survived by his parents, Lori and Paul; sister, Bailey (Tyler) Will; nephew, Hughes Will; and niece, Winnie Will; grandparents, Roseanne Anderson, and Barb and Ove Prestegard; and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mayo Clinic Hope Lodge.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
