Claude A. Zweber

Claude A. Zweber, age 92 of Hastings, MN, died peacefully on February 10, 2022, at Hastings Health and Rehabilitation ~ Augustana. Claude Anthony, the 11th child of John Peter and Magdalen Zweber, was born on January 4, 1930, in New Leipzig, ND. Following his graduation from Hastings High School, in Hastings, MN with the class of 1947, Claude attended the University of Notre Dame and the University of Minnesota. Claude served in the Navy, during the Korean Conflict. Claude was united in marriage to Mary Ring on June 6, 1953. They were blessed with six children, nearly sixty-eight years of marriage, and many wonderful memories together. Claude’s career as a banker took the family to many towns across Minnesota and North Dakota. Claude enjoyed woodworking, gardening, classic cars, duck hunting and spending time with his family at the lake. He was also very active in any community he lived in, and formed many lifelong friendships across the country. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; his brothers and sisters; Sr. Aimee, Cyril, Sr. Helen Beatrice, Estella, Sr. Florence, Maurice, Norbert, Fr. Raymond, Allred. Claude is survived by his sister, Sr. Theresa; children, Claudia Zweber, Timothy Zweber, Aimee Zweber, Peter (Carol) Zweber, Susan (Larry) Schedenhelm, and Jennifer (Ryan) Mahar; grandchildren, Zachary, Zara, Zandra, Zoanne, Zena, Megan, Spencer, Travis, Andrew, Jayde, Jayme, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Cainan, and Kirsten; eight great grandchildren (and two on the way), and by many relatives and friends. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings. Visitation will be a hour prior to mass. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to HCEF (Hastings Catholic Education Foundation) at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, 600 Tyler Street, Hastings, MN 55033.
