Cheryl A. (Thomas) Arnold

Cheryl A. Arnold, age 70 of Hastings, died peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, May 27, 2020. Cheryl Ann, the daughter of Charles and Joyce (Hansen) Thomas, was born on November 19, 1949, in St. Paul. Following her graduation from Hill-Murray High School with the class of 1967, Cheryl continued her education for brief time. She became a farm assistant for a number of years prior to joining Caterpillar in Roseville until her retirement. Cheryl was an avid quilter, and enjoyed sewing and crafts. She was preceded in death by her father; and recently by her son, Phil. Cheryl is survived by her sons, Pete Grandstrand and Jon (Joleen) Grandstrand; mother, Joyce (Herb) Johnson; partner of thirty years, Jon Cloutier; siblings, Debbie (Andy) Niemela, Mary Lou (Ron) Hawkinson, Jackie (Peter) Flom, Charlie (Myrna) Thomas, and Doug (Debbie) Thomas; good friend, Mary (Bob) Schweich; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In keeping with Cheryl's wishes, no public services will be held. Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery in Freeport, Illinois at a later date. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
