Charles (Chuck) Clarke Charles “Chuck” Clarke, age 80, of Hastings passed away from a chronic illness on June 20, 2019. Chuck was born in Prior Lake, MN on January 27, 1939 and graduated from Prior Lake High School. On May 10, 1958 he married the love of his life, Dody (Hyzer) Clarke. He will be dearly missed by his wife Dody, daughters Pam Clarke, Dawn Clarke, Colleen (Yog) Cysiewski, and grandchildren Josh, Sara, Lauren, Emma and Elliot. Chuck was passionate about his Christian faith and he and wife were committed to mission work, including multiple trips to Ukraine. His career included working for the University of Minnesota Science Lab, with special focus on the space program, leading to Chuck’s lifelong interest in astronomy. For 20+ years he served as the District Sales Manager for Twin City Die Casting in Minneapolis, where he met wonderful people and made lasting friendships. Chuck traveled extensively (often accompanied by his wife Dody) throughout his career. He was well respected for his strong work ethic and competitive spirit. Upon retirement, Chuck and his wife were delighted to spend time in Florida during the winter. Chuck had many interests. First and foremost, he was an avid fisherman. He traveled to Alaska numerous times for fishing. Chuck also enjoyed hunting and playing sports, especially golf, hockey and softball and watching any sports his grandchildren were playing. Chuck also took great pleasure in watching Minnesota Twins baseball with his wife. For Chuck, his family was most important to him; he was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather and friend. He and his wife Dody, married sixty-one years, were a match made in heaven. A memorial service celebrating Chuck’s life will be held at Crossroads Church, 225 33rd Street W #2 in Hastings on July 20, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service at the church. A memorial for international mission work is being established in Chuck’s name. His family graciously requests that in lieu of sending flowers you contribute to his memorial.
