Stevens, Charles Raymond 83, of Apple Valley, passed away Oct. 27, 2010 at home surrounded by his beloved family. He was born Sept. 15, 1927 in Detroit, MI to Raymand and Julia (nee Slayden) Stevens. Charles served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. Charles was a sporting goods sales rep and owned Northland Sporting Goods in Edina for 50 years. Charles received a 50 year service medallion from AA while living out his passion for helping others through the Edina Chapter meetings in Christ Presbyterian Church. Charles also loved golf, fishing and hunting with his children. Survivors include his wife, Ila Jean; children, Jeanne (Jeff) Stevens, Judy (Steven) Gervais, Anthony (Sandy) Stevens, Susan (Brian) Howe, Scott Stevens, Beth (Dave) Druckman, Raymond Schnichels, Kimberly (Dan) McDonald, Robert (Brenda) Schnichels, Lisa (Brian) Ronan and 18 grandchildren. Memorial services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 3, 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 13901 Fairview Drive, Burnsville. Visitation is one hour prior at the church.
