Catherine "Cathy" Kordosky

Catherine "Cathy" Kordosky, age 68, of Inver Grove Heights and formerly of Hastings, died peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul with family by her side. Catherine Lee, the daughter of Edward and Irene (Deneen) Pankonin, was born on September 7, 1947 in St. Paul. Following her graduation from St. Paul Park High School, Cathy was united in marriage to Dennis L. Kordosky at the Church of St. Patrick in Inver Grove Heights. They were blessed with two children, DeAnn and Tim, before his passing on April 26, 1998. Cathy began as a teller for various banks before working as an accountant for Red Owl. She later operated the Prudential Insurance office in Hastings prior to her retirement. Cathy enjoyed traveling, fishing in her younger years, shopping, playing cards and games with friends, and most of all, loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dennis. Cathy is survived by her children, DeAnn (David) Nicklay and children Lyndsay, Maiya and Jack of Hastings and Tim (Christee) Kordosky and children Tanner, Trent and Carlee of Hastings; her siblings, Jim (Patty) Behrenbrinker of Falcon Heights and Theresa (Karl) Oestreich of Eagan; also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St. Hastings, with Father T. J. McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings and for one hour prior to Mass on Friday at church.
