Carol A. Watson

Carol A Watson, age 82, formerly of Newport, passed away at Regina Assisted Living in Hastings on June 7, 2021. She was born in Braham, MN on December 2, 1938 to Edwin and Edith Johnson. She married Deryl W. Watson in December 1968. Carol retired as a cook from a St. Paul Nursing Home after several years of employment. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and gardening. Carol loved to travel and was a great cook. She also enjoyed playing card and board games, and hosting family and friends at get togethers. Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Deryl Watson; son, Terry Westman; step son, Darren Watson; parents, Edwin and Edith Johnson; and brothers, Gordon Johnson and Pat Johnson. She is survived by her sisters in law, Sonja Johnson and Beverly Johnson; step children, Rachelle Schultz, Janette Emerson and Sherri (Randy) Zitur-Brady; several nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Private Family Services are being held. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to Alzheimer’s Association or American Heart Association.
