Bud Horace Giddings

Giddings, Horace G. 'Bud'Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Uncle, Bud Giddings, age 85, of Hastings, died April 20, 2009, of complications from congestive heart failure. Bud was born in Winona on August 1, 1923, to Harry Giddings and Genevieve Palen Giddings. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Genevieve and Patricia. He graduated from Winona High School and attended the University of Minnesota. Bud served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. On December 28, 1946, he married Patricia (Pat) Kelley of Winona. Bud was a salesman for Precision Steel Warehouse, Inc., Franklin Park, IL, for thirty years. Bud enjoyed gardening, travelling ? especially planning the family road trips each summer, and spending time with family and friends, as well as cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. After retiring, Bud and his wife Pat enjoyed their travels to Ireland, Greece and Turkey, and most especially visiting their children and grandchildren in Montana. Bud is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pat, daughter Maureen (Scott) Kleckner, White Bear Lake, son Brian (Beth) Giddings, Helena, MT, daughter Mary (Jeff) Jaraczeski, Great Falls, MT, grandchildren Megan and Kipton Giddings, Luke and Elizabeth Jaraczeski, sister-in-law Mary Murphy, Winona, and many nieces and nephews, and friends. Visitation is Thursday, May 7, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring Street, Hastings. The funeral service is Friday, May 8,, 10:00 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th Street W, Hastings, with visitation at the church beginning at 9:00. Interment with military honors, provided by VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery will immediately follow the funeral service. Luncheon will be served at the church after the interment. Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, or the donor's choice.
