Breanna Marie Foix

Breanna Marie Foix, age 14, of Cottage Grove, passed away July 2, 2018, due to injuries following an auto accident. Breanna was born on October 20, 2003 in St. Louis Park, MN. She was a young lady full of joy and a passion for life. She always did her best to make others smile and laugh because she never liked to see anyone sad or hurting. She had just finished middle school with excellent grades and had even been recommended to take three honors courses next year in the 9th grade. She was an advocate for an anti-bullying group at her school and even helped recruit others for the cause. She truly had a passion for protecting others. Breanna was also very passionate about gymnastics. After only 2 years she had just achieved a coveted spot on the M.A.G.A gymnastics competition team in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. She had finally accomplished the huge dream that she'd had from the time she first started learning gymnastics. She was very excited about this accomplishment, about the skills she learned, and to obtain more skills in order to compete. She loved being on her team and all the friends she made while being in the sport. Breanna had many interests and was a very active girl. She loved arts and crafts, performing in theater, singing, reading, and many other activities. She loved playing sports of all kinds and was very athletic. When weather was nice Breanna could be found riding her bicycle or on roller blades or her ripstick much of the time. She loved spending time with family, it was very special to her, and she was developing a stronger bond with her older sister on new levels and also becoming closer to her step sister with new interests as well. Breanna knew exactly what she wanted to do for a career. She had a dream of going to college to become a physical therapist in order to help others. She loved to serve others without expecting anything in return. She truly had a giving and loving heart and she was loved by all those that truly knew her. She will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by grandmothers, Betty L. Johnson and Nora M. Jones; grandfathers, Marvin M. Johnson, Harold Foix, and Paul Jones; great-grandparents, James P. Schaefer, Marvin C. Johnson, Clarence Hammond, Nellie Hammond, and other loved ones. Survived by mother, Rebecka L. Johnson; father, Arthur C. Foix; sister, Kaytlynn C. Foix; stepsister, Lilly Lopez; stepfather, Chris Lopez; great-grandmothers, Jean H. Schaefer, Joan A. Johnson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday (7/28), 2:00 PM, at Harbor Church, 11125 Point Douglas Drive S., Hastings. A gathering will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
