Brainerd "Jeff" Livingston, age 95,of Hastings died Friday, June 19, of complications from a stroke. His 60-year career in the car business spanned the horse-and-buggy age to the digital age. The former owner of Livingston Ford in Hastings, Jeff also worked for Apple Valley Ford, Erickson Ford in Hastings and Jim Haugen Ford in Farmington. Prior to that, he worked at the Ford Motor Company for 17 years, where he worked his way up from courier to distribution manager. An avid golfer, Jeff was a longtime member of the Hastings Country Club and served a term as president of the board of directors. He was a member of Southview Country Club in the 1950s. Jeff was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Naval Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret, and two daughters, Margaret Fabyanske (Marv) of White Bear Lake and Nancy Livingston (Tim VanNess) of North St. Paul. Also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 6 siblings and his parents, Lura and Roy Livingston. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. 7th St., Hastings. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashland and 9th Street, Hastings, with a visitation for 1 hourprior tothe service at church. A private graveside service will be held at Ft.Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.Military honors will be provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post #1210.
