Beverly Jean Ahrendt

Beverly Jean Ahrendt, age 87 of Hastings, died peacefully on Thursday morning, December 26, 2019, at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul. Jean, the second of ten children of David and Inez (Ames) Hill, was born on December 2, 1932 in Duluth. Following her education, Jean was united in marriage to Leslie Gray Sr. and he later preceded her in death. She then married Alvin Ahrendt Sr. and he also preceded her in death. Jean was a dedicated homemaker that was willing to help her family in any way she could. She was also a longtime supporter and participant for "A Bridge for a Cure" with hopes of helping to find a cure to end cancer. Jean was an avid Packers fan, longtime volunteer at Augusta Care of Hastings, and a dedicated member and volunteer of Resurrection United Methodist Church in Hastings. Most of all, Jean enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; children, Leslie Gray Jr., Raymond Gray, Wayne Gray, and Alvin "Punky" Ahrendt Jr.; and by her siblings, Mary Anne, Bonnie, Evelyn, Neda, and David. Jean is survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Gray (Christopher Appert) and Antoinette (Ramkumar) Kasiraman; great grandchildren, Queana, Ariana, Rheya, and Rayana; siblings, Donny, Virginia, Judy, and Debbie; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorial services will be held 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Resurrection United Methodist Church in Hastings, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to a reception at the church. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
