Beverly "Bev" Samuelson

Beverly R. "Bev" Samuelson, age 77 of Hastings, died peacefully at home on Sunday morning, November 15, 2020, following a recent battle with cancer. Beverly Rose, the daughter of Michael and Marie (Meyers) Fox, was born on May 18, 1943, in Hastings. Following her graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1962, Bev was united in marriage to Day E. "Ed" Samuelson on August 6, 1966. They were blessed with two sons and fifty-two years of marriage prior to his passing on August 26, 2018. Bev was a longtime retail employee with various companies. She enjoyed decorating and had good taste in everything she did. Bev also enjoyed the time she spent tending to her flower gardens and household plants. She spent many wonderful times traveling with friends over the years, and cherished the friendships she had. Bev was also a very faithful woman, and never missed the opportunity to attend Mass. Most of all, Bev loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; and by her brother and sisters-in-law, Barbara Samuelson, John "Jack" Samuelson, George Nelson, and Gloria Fox. Beverly is survived by her sons, Mark Samuelson and Tim Samuelson; grandchildren, Isaac, Ella, and Lucy Samuelson; siblings, Mary Nelson and Len (Roberta) Fox; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Father David Hennen officiating. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to watch the service on the funeral home's Facebook page starting at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society in memory of Beverly. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
