Beverly Ann Hoffman

Beverly A. Hoffman, age 90, of Hastings died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Regina Hospital in Hastings. Beverly Ann Hynden was born July 13, 1926 in Minneapolis. She was the daughter of George and Cora Bye of Hastings. Bev was a retired Special Education teacher in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Public Schools and worked extensively with Native American children. She was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles, loved art, especially painting and collected American Indian art, as well as singing in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Choir. She married Louis "Jim" Hoffman on September 6, 1996 in Hastings. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents George and Cora Bye, her brother Jack Bye and her brother Dennis Hynden. She is survived by her husband Jim Hoffman, her 2 children Tony (Denise) Ecker and Monique Ecker; her granddaughter Amanda Ecker and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 pm Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th Street W., Hastings. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral at church. Interment will take place at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Cemetery. Casket Bearers are Edward Johnson, Lewis Kieffer, Ray Kieffer, Bill Kieffer, Dick Mathiowitz and Tibor Kovacs. Arrangements are with Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, Hastings.
