Betty J. Koppes

Betty J. Koppes, age 91, of Woodbury, formerly Hastings, passed away in Loveland, CO on December 20, 2014. She was born in Titonka, IA to Herman and Theresa Dreesman on October 6, 1923. Betty graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Medical Technology. She traveled with her husband during his naval service with 5 children before settling in Hastings. Betty ran the laboratory at Regina Medical Center for 18 years before starting the Medical Company, R&D Systems (Techne). She retired from R&D Systems in 2012. She was preceded in death by husband, Paul; sons, Peter and James; parents; brothers, Dennis and David; and sister, Lydia. Betty is survived by sons, Michael (Pat) and Robert (Natalia); daughter, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Chad (Christina); Trevor; Michael; John (Stephanie); David; Joey (Mary); Jennifer (Mike); Claire (Kristopher); Peter and Davyd; great grandchildren, James and Kaelyn; daughters in law, Linda Frolich and Kari (Stephan) Weiler; nieces and nephews. Betty will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday (12/30) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 16770 13th St. S., Lakeland, MN. A visitation will be held on Monday (12/29) from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings and one hour prior to mass at church on Tuesday.
