Benson (Benzel), Betty “Sweetie Pie” 85, of Richfield, MN on 2/15/10. Born 12/2/24 in Mpls. Longtime employee Northwest Airlines. Retired 1980 to Green Valley, AZ until her return to MN in 1999. Predeceased by husband, Sherman; parents, Carl & Grace Benzel; brother, Jerry (Vera); sister, Esther Johnston. Survived by daughter, Barbara (Butch) Strand of Mpls; son, John (Becky) of Delaware; 8 grandchildren, Carol (Rob) Strand- Siebers, Lynn (Jaime) Strand-Meyer; Nicole (Corey) Strand, Craig (Randi) Benson; Mandi Benson; Cortney, Bailey & Adam Haugen; 5 great- grandchildren, Robyn, Quinn, Zara Siebers, Lukas & Ethan Meyer. Funeral Service Friday, Feb. 19, 3:00 PM, Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. S., with visitation one hour prior to service. Reception immediately following at family home. Private interment at Fort Snelling. Many thanks to family & friends for their enormous help and support during hospice.
