Berton ''Bert'' Holst

Berton “Bert” Holst, age 78 of Lakeville, born July 1, 1931 in Red Wing, MN to Sylvia and Herbert Holst, passed away October 6, 2009. Bert was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going out dancing, and playing cards. Bert served in the U.S. Navy during Korea. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Paul Zemke. Bert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gloria; daughter, Bonnie (John) Strong; son, Gary (Martha “Sam”) Holst; two grandsons, Adam (Michelle) Holst and Kevin Holst; great-grandchildren: Alex, Lexi, and Abbi; brothers and sister: Bud (Karen) Holst, Carol Zemke, and Curt (Merrie) Holst; and many nieces; nephews; family and friends. Visitation is 2-4PM, Sunday, October 11, at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, and also one hour before the service at church. The Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 12, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Rich Valley, 14385 Blaine Avenue South, Rosemount. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
