Bernice M. Strand,
Age 94 formerly of Minneapolis and Elk River, born August 8, 1917 in Minneapolis to Caroline and Fred Herberg, went home to be with her Lord peacefully in Northfield, February 4, 2012. Bernice enjoyed baking, cooking, entertaining, playing SCRABBLE, crossword puzzles, reading and embroidery and was a self-taught, award winning crocheter. Her husband, Webster, precedes her in death. Bernice will be dearly missed by her children: Joyce (Nikolai) Koropchak, Sharon (Reverend Jim) Gullickson, Frederick (Renae) Strand; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 12 noon, Friday Feb. 10, at the Northfield Retirement Community Chapel, 900 Cannon Valley Dr., Northfield and 12 noon Saturday, Feb. 11 at Community Covenant Church, formerly Svea Hill Church, Co. Rd. 15 in Big Lake where Bernice and her husband Web were members for 56 years. Private interment Svea Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International, www.gideons.org.
