Bernice H. Nisja
Age 95 of Minneapolis, born June 27, 1917 in Cass Lake, MN passed away Christmas Day, 2012. Bernice worked in nursing at four area hospitals, including Eitel Hospital, across from Loring Park, where she enjoyed caring for women and their newborns in the maternity ward. She worked for 25 years at Dayton’s in downtown Mpls. In addition, Bernice was very active in music ministry and hospitality at Minnehaha United Church of Christ in Mpls. She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren and sisters, Karin Erickson and Elsie Carlson. Bernice will be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, December 31, 2012 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. So., Mpls. Bernice will be laid to rest with her husband at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Minnesota.
