Bernard M. "Buck" Husting

Bernard M. �Buck� Husting, age 83 of Hastings died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his home. Buck was born September 20, 1931 in Hastings to Edward and Gertrude (O�Shaughnessy) Husting. He was a 1951 graduate of Hastings High School and served in the MN National Guard. Buck married Bernice Meier on August 9, 1952 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. The former owner of a local excavating company, Buck was a larger than life personality who made friends easily. He enjoyed time with family and friends, especially at his cabin up north, and also enjoyed camping, traveling and was an avid sports fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bernice; brothers Robert, William and Richard. Buck is survived by his children Karen (Richard) Spicer, Diane (Jerry) Flom, Ken Husting (Jennifer Rank), Nancy (James) Schmotter, Julie (Michael) Lubich, and John (Jodi) Husting; also 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; siblings Elizabeth �Betty� (Robert) Wenberg, Edward (Gloria) Husting, Mary (Paul) Bryan and Marjorie �Marjie� Marwill; sister-in-law Lorraine Husting; also many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. David Hennen will be held 11 AM Monday, February 23 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings. A visitation will be held at church two hours prior to Mass. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
