Bernadine A., March 12, 1928 to February 1, 2012, age 83, of Apple Valley, MN, former 40 year resident of Crookston, MN passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Helma Nesland; and a brother, Omer Nesland. Bernadine is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Oscar; children, Ann (Wayne) Johnson, John (Kristi) Breiland and Paul Breiland; 5 grandchildren, Tia, Matthew, Ashley, Joshua and Alyssa; a great-grandson, Caleb; nieces, nephews and friends. Bernadine was the valedictorian of her high school class at Northwest High School in 1945 and then attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, graduating in 1949. She then taught school in Ulen, Mahnomen and Robinsdale Minnesota. Bernadine lived a life of service to her family, church and community. Funeral services for Bernadine will be held on Saturday, Feb 4, 2012 at 1 PM in Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 147th and Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, MN with her visitation 1 hour prior to the service in the mortuary. Interment will be in Lebanon Cemetery, Apple Valley, MN.
