Barbara C. Nelson

Barbara Clair Nelson, age 81, of Hastings passed away December 14, 2012. She was born in Hastings on January 4, 1931 to Aloysius and Vernice (Frey) Stevens. She married Walter R. Nelson on July 25, 1953 while they were both serving in the US Navy. Barbara was a retired Dakota County Employee.She was preceded in death by husband, Walter; sisters, Rita Nelson and Phyllis Doffing. She is survived by sons, Robert (Doreen), Steven (Geri), Jeff (Janny); daughter, Jackie (Barry) Pioske; grandchildren, Jacob (Rebecca); Jesse; Micki (Ben); Nancy (Russ); Becky (Tim); Gretchen (Josh); Chris (Emily); Josh (Chelsea); Michelle (Mike); and Bryce (Maria); great-grandchildren, Linsey; Carter; Connor; Kate; Charlie; and Madi; siblings, Pat (Benny) O’Brien, Mary Stevens and Jerry Stevens; other relatives and friends.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring Street in Hastings. A visitation will be held Sunday December 16, 2012 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Wise Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Private Interment.
