Audrey Jean Wickman

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Wickman, age 102, of Hastings, Minnesota, who passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026.

Audrey was born on October 23, 1923, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Carl and Palma (Howard) Peters. She grew up in St. Paul as one of four children and graduated from Central High School.

Following high school, Audrey proudly served her country in the Women’s Army Corp, where she worked as a physician’s assistant while stationed in Alabama. After her honorable discharge, she returned home.

After returning home from the service, Audrey married Otto Johnson and welcomed two sons, Russ and Gary. Later, she married John Johnson and together they welcomed three more children, Sandy, Sharon and Jim. The family made their home in St. Paul where Audrey devoted herself to raising her children while also working as a nurse’s aide in various hospitals. She and John also owned and operated a trailer rental business together.

Audrey was a very kind and patient person. She had a love for horses and the family lived on several farms over the years. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time at the lake. She also loved watching her Minnesota sports teams.

In 1974, Audrey married Herman Wickman. Together they enjoyed many trips to their cabin near Hayward until Herman’s passing in 1987.

Audrey will be remembered for her feisty personality, fun-loving spirit and the deep love she had for her family.

She is survived by her children, Sandy Johnson, Sharon Johnson and Jim Johnson; her five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Russ and Gary, her parents, her husbands, three siblings and many dear friends.
