Arnold A. Kimmes

Arnold A. Kimmes, age 75, of Hastingspassed awaySaturday, July 10, 2010 after a short and courageous battle with cancer.Arnold was born July 16, 1934 in Welch to Matt and Marie (Schiller) Kimmes. He married Lorraine Reinardy on May 14, 1955 in New Trier. Arnold loved golf, playing cards, fishing and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He was amember of the Carpenters Union Local #87. His skills asa master carpenter were appreciated by many family members and friends, never hesitating to help whenever his skills were needed.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ben, Norbert and Eddie Kimmes. Arnold is survived by his wife Lorraine; children Julie (Fred) Simpson of Knoxville, TN., Steven (LaVonne) Kimmes of Des Moines, IA., Mitch (Lori) Kimmes of Dundas and Joe (Burnadette) Kimmes of Hastings; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings Art (Millie) Kimmes of New Trier, Lawrence "Butch" (Mary Ann) Kimmes of Hastings, Al (Mary Rose) Kimmes of Hastings and Teresa (Norbert) Siebenaler of Faribault.The Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Allan Paul Eilen will be held 10AMThursday, July 15, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. Visitation will be from 4-8PM Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. 7th St., Hastings and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brett Kimmes, Jake Kimmes, Luke Kimmes, Ian Kimmes, Steven Kimmes, Michael Stewart and Ken Pommerening.
