Anthony "Tony" Nicolai

Our Beautiful and Charismatic Tony, age 37 of Waterville and formerly of Hampton, Minnesota, blessed us with his presence on August 3, 1984, and went to be with our Lord on March 26, 2022. It was with heavy hearts to see brain cancer take him too soon, but we rejoice knowing he is home in heaven. Anthony Peter was born in Farmington to Leo and Joyce (Reinardy) Nicolai. He attended St. Mathias Catholic Grade School prior to graduating from Randolph High School with the class of 2002. Tony then attended St. Cloud Tech earning a degree in HVAC where he worked in the plumbing and heating industry for the next sixteen years. Tony enjoyed his family, friends, fishing, camping, cooking, traveling, and especially loved his four legged friend, Beau. With his sense of humor, Tony wanted everyone to know he was VERY proud of the fact that he NEVER did anything social media related. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Adolph and Lorraine Reinardy, and Ray and Marianne Nicolai; and by his stillborn sister, Ann Marie Nicolai. Tony is survived by his parents, Leo and Joyce; siblings, Andy (Courtney) Nicolai and sons, Leo his Godson and Oliver, Luke (Dana) Nicolai and sons, Blake, Brett, and Brooks; Mary Nicolai, Lisa (Jason) Swanson and sons, Trey and Ryan, and Lori Nicolai; his best friend and companion, Leah Kaiser and family; and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will one day meet him again on the other side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton, with Father Michael Tix officiating. Private family interment will be held at the parish cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., and to a reception immediately following the Mass, all at church on Friday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, Tony's family requests memorials be made to American Cancer Society or LifeSource in his memory. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
