Anthony M. Nelson

Anthony "Tony" M. Nelson, 65, peacefully passed away on March 6th, 2021. Tony was born in Hastings, to Maurice and Ann (Kurowski) Nelson. He grew up on the farm with 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Tony worked as a mechanic in one way or another his entire life. He loved Nascar, the Minnesota Vikings and all things Ford. In 1995, he was given a second chance at life with the gift of a kidney transplant from his friend and neighbor Kenny Kusske. That single kidney lasted him the remainder of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John K. Nelson; sister-in-law, Margie Nelson; and great-grandson, Masen Peterfeso. Tony is survived by daughters, Jennifer (Jeff) Olson, Melinda (Bob) Williams, Kristina Wilson, and Elizabeth (Pat Gilbertson) Nelson; sisters, Nancy Nelson and Roseanne (Dave) Gilmore; brothers, Clifford (Joyce) Nelson and Richard Nelson; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and his fur buddy, Apollo. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 1 to 5 pm at Spring Lake Park Reserve.
